Personality/Demeanor: Rathan is a smart cookie that keeps his intelligence masterfully hidden beneath a cool, jock façade. While he’s great at parties, a good time out, and
enjoys being social, there are few people Rath truly trusts and open up to beyond his family. He’s a lot like his cousin, Cal, but a little darker.

Rathan was born not long after his cousin, Meical Deireadh, and the two grew up together having
adventures and enjoying life. They get themselves in and out of trouble on a daily basisOne day on a dare from Cal, Rathan stood with his toes hanging off the edge of a cliff for three hours singing off-color songs. In the middle of a particularly bawdy song involving a faerie and a witch, a gust of wind knock Rathan flat on his ass. Up from the ledge rose a petite faerie girl with feathered wings, who pointedly told them that it wasn’t polite to say such things because the wind listened. Laughing at the boys’ astonishment, the child-like angel disappeared into the clouds.
Rathan became determined to find the girl again and show her he could sing any song he wanted into the wind. He learned all the abilities of all the Houses to see which would be the best for helping him find the faerie girl. It was a toss up between Frost and Tuath by the time he came of age, but Tuath’s earthy nature didn’t quite fit Rathan’s personality. After joining Frost and working his mastery of the weather and elemental powers to a respectable level, Rath dragged Cal back to
the same cliff. He started singing the faerie/witch song again in a much deeper range.
As before, a gust of wind blew at him but this time he had the skills to take control of the air. The faerie girl appeared again with a curious expression then smiled sweetly.
“Silly Brinncaillagh..." she giggled, took control of the winds from Rathan and promptly blew him up a tree while Cal laughed himself senseless.
Since then, Rathan and Dabria Windcaller have been very good friends. As Rathan grew into House Frost, he met Magnolia Gealach, his Housemate Dorien’s daughter. Dabria and Magnolia are the only two people Rathan opens up to and confides in completely, other than his family.
